Effective date: September 16, 2026 · Last updated: October 28, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and CallerTracer ("CallerTracer", "we", "us") covering the website callertracer.com, its reverse phone lookup and trucking data tools, credits and subscriptions (together, the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. What the Service is

CallerTracer lets you look up a phone number and see information about it: carrier, line type, location, caller name where published, risk indicators and community reports. Results are assembled from third-party and public sources and are provided for informational purposes only.

CallerTracer also provides information about motor carriers from public records of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA): carrier profiles, DOT and MC number lookups, lead search, daily lead emails and CSV exports ("Trucking Data"). Section 6 adds terms that apply to Trucking Data.

2. Eligibility and accounts

  • You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or buy credits.
  • You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details confidential and for all activity under your account.
  • You must provide accurate account information and keep it current.
  • One person may not maintain multiple free accounts to bypass daily limits.

3. Permitted and prohibited use

You may use the Service to identify unknown callers, verify contacts, screen for scams and protect yourself, your family or your business.

You may not use the Service:

  • to determine any person's eligibility for credit, insurance, employment, housing, government benefits or any other purpose regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) or similar laws;
  • to stalk, harass, threaten, intimidate or locate a person against their will;
  • to violate any privacy, telemarketing, anti-spam or data protection law, including the TCPA, GDPR and CCPA;
  • to scrape, crawl, bulk-download or systematically extract data from the website, other than through the CSV exports included in your plan;
  • to resell, sublicense or redistribute results;
  • to reverse engineer the Service, interfere with its operation or bypass rate limits, Turnstile checks or credit accounting;
  • to submit community reports that are false, defamatory or made in bad faith.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules and may report unlawful activity to authorities.

4. Not a consumer reporting agency

CallerTracer is not a consumer reporting agency and does not provide consumer reports as defined by the FCRA. You agree that you will not use any information from the Service as a factor in establishing a consumer's eligibility for credit, insurance, employment, housing or any other FCRA-covered purpose. The full statement is on the FCRA Disclaimer page and forms part of these Terms.

5. Free lookups, credits and subscriptions

5.1 Free Basic Lookup

Basic Lookup results are free within a daily limit that depends on whether you are signed in. Limits are measured per account and per IP address and may change with notice on the site.

5.2 Credits

Paid features, such as Risk Details and Basic Lookups beyond the daily free limit, consume credits. The credit cost of each feature is shown before you confirm it. If a paid feature returns no data from the provider, the credits for that request are refunded automatically. Viewing the same paid result for the same number again within 30 days does not consume additional credits.

Credit packs are valid for 12 months from purchase. Credits included in a subscription are valid for the billing month in which they are issued and do not roll over. Bonus credits granted at sign-up expire 30 days after they are issued. Credits have no cash value and are not transferable.

5.3 Subscriptions

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period, monthly or yearly depending on the plan, until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from Settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period and you keep access until then. Prices are shown in USD and may change with at least 30 days' notice; changes apply from your next renewal.

5.4 Payments and refunds

Payments are processed by Stripe. Charges are made when you buy a credit pack and at the start of each subscription period. Because credits are delivered immediately, purchases are non-refundable except where required by law or where the Service failed to deliver purchased credits. If you believe you were charged in error, contact [email protected] within 14 days.

5.5 Taxes

Prices exclude taxes unless stated. Applicable sales tax or VAT is calculated at checkout based on your billing address.

6. Trucking Data

6.1 Plans and states

Every subscription plan includes Trucking Data for a number of US states, or all of them, together with monthly credits for phone lookups, as shown on the pricing page. You choose your states in your dashboard. You can add states to free slots at any time and swap states once every 30 days. Upgrades take effect immediately with a prorated charge; downgrades take effect at your next renewal. Each person signs in with their own account: a plan covers the number of team members shown on the pricing page, all of them people at your own business, and you may not share a login. Plans that send emails to extra addresses may only add addresses of people at your own business, each of whom confirms before receiving anything and is bound by this section. Data you receive through webhooks or the API is Trucking Data under this section, and API keys are for your own systems; keep them secret and revoke a key you think was exposed.

6.2 Permitted use

You may use Trucking Data to vet carriers before you work with them and to contact carriers about products and services for their business, such as insurance, financing, dispatch, compliance and equipment.

6.3 Your responsibility for outreach

You are solely responsible for how you contact carriers and must comply with every law that applies to your outreach, including the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), the Telemarketing Sales Rule, federal and state Do Not Call rules, state telemarketing laws and the CAN-SPAM Act. Cell phone numbers are marked as such based on line type checks, which can be wrong or out of date; do not place autodialed or prerecorded calls or send marketing texts to any number without the consent the law requires. Honor every request to stop contacting a carrier.

6.4 Restrictions

You may not sell, license, publish or otherwise give Trucking Data, including exports and daily emails, to anyone outside your own business; use it to build or enrich a competing database or lead service; or use it for any purpose covered by the FCRA (see section 4). We may limit exports or suspend access if usage suggests bulk extraction or resale. If a carrier opts out, its contact details stop appearing in our results, and we may ask you to stop using contact details you obtained from us for that carrier.

6.5 Accuracy

Trucking Data is self-reported by carriers to FMCSA and passed on as published, with our line type checks and complaint flags added. It can be incomplete, out of date or wrong, and section 8 applies to it in full. We do not guarantee that any phone number or email reaches the carrier or that any lead results in business.

7. Community reports

By submitting a report you grant CallerTracer a worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, display and aggregate it as part of the Service. You confirm the report reflects your genuine experience with the number. We may edit or remove reports that are abusive, off-topic or appear to be false, and we may display aggregated report counts publicly.

8. Accuracy and disclaimers

Information about phone numbers comes from carriers, public records, third-party data providers and user reports. It can be incomplete, out of date or wrong, and numbers can be spoofed. Each result shows its source and the date it was last verified so you can judge it yourself.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF ACCURACY, MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT RESULTS WILL BE ACCURATE, COMPLETE OR CURRENT, OR THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE.

9. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CALLERTRACER WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR USD 100 IF YOU HAVE NOT PAID US. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THESE LIMITATIONS, SO THEY MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

10. Indemnity

You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless CallerTracer and its officers, employees and contractors from any claims, damages and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising from your use of the Service in violation of these Terms or applicable law, including any FCRA-covered use and any outreach that violates the laws listed in section 6.3.

11. Intellectual property

The Service, including its design, code, brand and compiled data, is owned by CallerTracer or its licensors and protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right to use the CallerTracer name or logo. You keep ownership of content you submit, subject to the licence in section 7.

12. Termination

You may stop using the Service or delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access immediately if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or if continuing to provide the Service becomes impractical. Sections 4, 6.3, 6.4, 8, 9, 10 and 11 survive termination. Unused credits are forfeited on termination for breach.

13. Changes to the Service and these Terms

We may change, add or remove features. We may update these Terms; material changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date, and registered users will be notified by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after that date means you accept the updated Terms.

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to their jurisdiction, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in any court of competent jurisdiction. If you are a consumer in the EEA or UK, you also benefit from mandatory protections of your local law.

15. General

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them to a successor. These Terms, the Privacy Policy and the FCRA Disclaimer are the entire agreement between you and CallerTracer regarding the Service.
